Fourway

Fourway - 11 x 14 Oil on panel. Tonight I thought I would
paint four sketches while in the same spot. I gave myself a
half hour to do each sketch. I started at 5:30 and finished
at 7:30 as the sun was setting. This was a good exercise
for me as I didn't spend time on details and was pretty
much trying to match color and values as well as big shapes.
The more I painted the simpler I painted. I have enough
information in the sketches and some reference photos to
do 4 nice paintings in the studio. I like the painting in the
top right quadrant and the bottom left quadrant.
